Beef Brisket Sandwich

Ingredients

4-5 pounds of beef brisket ( bottom cut )

1 medium yellow onion, sliced into rings

1/2 cup of water


- Rub -

2 tbsp garlic pepper

2 tsp onion powder

2 tsp ground mustard

1 tsp Penzeys Old World Seasoning

2 tsp salt

1. Trim the fat down to 1/4 in on the brisket.

2. Combine all the rub ingredients into a small mixing bowl or saucer.

3. Coat both sides of the brisket with the rub.

4. Slice the onion into small even rings, and place them in the bottom of the slow cooker.

5. Place the rub-coated brisket on top of the onions.

6. Add the water to the slow cooker.

7. Cook on low for 4 to 6 hours or for 2 hours on high. Check the progress halfway through to avoid over-cooking. The meat should reach 160ºF in the thickest part.
